On 31 October 2025, the Internet Society Nepal Chapter (Open Internet Nepal), in collaboration with the Digital Rights Action Group (DRAG), will host a capacity‑building workshop titled “Youth & Internet: Capacity Building on Cybersecurity and Digital Safety.”

The workshop will gather youth from diverse backgrounds—digital rights advocates, cybersecurity professionals, students, and other stakeholders—to strengthen their understanding of digital safety, cyber threats, and Internet governance, with a strong focus on practical skills and collaborative learning.

Key Sessions

  1. Opening Remarks & Internet Governance Overview

    • Speaker: Mr. Ashirwad Tripathy, President, Internet Society Nepal Chapter
    • Introduction to Internet governance, digital rights, and DRAG’s mission in Nepal.
  2. Digital Safety and Threat Landscape

    • Speaker: Mr. Ananda Gautam, Co‑founder of the Nepal Chapter
    • Overview of common online risks, emerging cyber threats, and best practices for protecting personal data, accounts, and devices.
  3. Interactive Threat‑Mapping Exercise

    • Facilitator: Mr. Nikesh Balami
    • A hands‑on group exercise where participants will map legal, social, and technical dimensions of cyber threats and design mitigation strategies suited to their own contexts.

  • Build youth capacity to recognize and respond to cyber threats

  • Encourage informed youth participation in cybersecurity and Internet governance dialogues
