Internet society nepal chapter

We are the Internet Society’s official global presence within the territory of Nepal. We bring together dedicated members of our community who engage in programs and activities focused on establishing the internet as a force for good through local initiatives, policy advocacy, and educating end-users on internet-related issues. We are one of more than 100 Internet Society chapters globally, and we operate within Nepal under our registered legal entity, “Open Internet Nepal.”

Our scope
Advocacy and Awareness
Making people aware about internet issues and principles. Promoting an open, accessible, and secure Internet and advocating for policies that support these principles in Nepal.
Community Building
Bringing together professionals, enthusiasts, and stakeholders in the local community who share an interest in the Internet. Bringing in multi- stakeholders and finding avenues to work together in a bottom-up approach.
Empowerment
Empowering and facilitating networking opportunities for members to connect with others in the field and share knowledge and experiences at national, regional and international platforms.
Digital Literacy
Conducting educational programs and outreach initiatives to raise awareness about Internet-related issues and advancements. Identifying the local issues and priorities on the internet and developing projects that support open, accessible and secure internet especially for the national priority development sector of education, health, agriculture, etc.
Collaboration
Collaborating with other local and international organizations to work on common goals and projects.
Policy Engagement
Engaging in discussions and initiatives related to Internet governance, policies, and regulations at local and regional levels. Representing local issues and success models with respect to the Nepalese context.
